What hit you in this episode? Send me a message — I actually read them all.

What did you actually build today?

Not what you planned. Not what you researched. Not what you opened a tab for. What did you put into the world that had the actual potential to fail?

In this episode, I'm talking to the person with real vision — you can see the business, the book, the brand, the impact — but there's a gap between what you can see and what you're actually building. And that gap isn't a clarity problem. It's a self-trust problem.

I'm sharing the season I spent over $10,000 on a business program, did every assignment, followed every step — and still had to face the hardest question of my life: am I building the vision, or am I buying more preparation because I don't trust myself to move?

In this episode:

  • Why vision by itself is not enough — and what actually makes it real
  • The moment I stopped paying people to tell me what I refused to activate
  • How broken promises to yourself destroy your vision's credibility with YOU
  • Why some of your "preparation" is fear pretending to be wisdom
  • The 3-step execution push: one piece, made testable, put in front of reality

You are overfed with information and undernourished with execution. This episode is the mirror.

What did you actually build today? Not what did you plan or what you researched or how many tabs you have open? What did you actually build today that has the potential to help someone else solve their problem? And I want you to be honest, not just with me, but honest with yourself because I'm not grading you. Nobody's actually grading you except for you. And if your answer comes back and it's nothing, absolutely nothing, then you're not working. You are hiding. And I'm sorry to tell you that, but that is the truth. You have a vision and you're sitting on it. And I'm not talking to the person that has no dream. I'm not talking to the person that has no ideas. I'm not even talking to somebody who doesn't care. I'm talking to you, the person who can see their vision. You can see the business, the room, you can see the clients, the impact, you can see the book that you're trying to write. You can see the offer. You can see the brand. You can see the life and you know what it could become. But when you look at what you actually built today, that is where the gap is. And the gap is not because that you don't have vision. It's because somewhere along the lines, you stop trusting yourself and you stop moving towards the vision that you already had. And what happens when you do that is that you start to need more proof, you start to need more confirmation, more information, more strategy, more signs, more permission from somebody else who's not even doing it. And now the vision is just sits there on the shelf collecting dust. And it's clear enough for you to see it, but you don't trust enough to build. That is the real issue. This episode is not going to be about confidence, it is not going to be about perfectionism or procrastination or how you have analysis, paralysis. It is not going to be about any of those things because those are symptoms. This is going to be about what happens when vision has no self-trust underneath of it. Because vision by itself is not enough. And I know that that sounds crazy. I know it sounds uncomfortable because we love vision. We love to visualize things in today dream. We love the big picture. We love the possibility. We love saying that I can see it. But if I'm being straight with you, seeing it does not mean that you trust yourself to build it. You see the house and never pour the foundation. You see the business and you never make the offer. You can see the book that you want to write and you never finish the first chapter. You can see the ministry that you want to start, the brand, the program, the movement, the company. You can see the next level. That's not the problem, but you don't move. Because vision does not become real just because you saw it. How many times have your dreams come true that you dreamt, seen the full picture, but you didn't make no moves? You just sat there and daydreamed. How many times have those things ever came true? So you have a vision, but your vision becomes real because you trusted yourself long enough to execute on it. That's the difference. And this is where a lot of high achievers get stuck. You keep thinking that you need more clarity, but you already have enough clarity for taking the next step. You keep thinking that you need more information, but you already have enough information to test something. You keep thinking that you need to feel ready. Stop it. Because readiness usually comes after you get moving, not before. So I gotta ask you something. How long have you been getting ready? Has it been three months, a year, maybe even longer? And if that number just made you feel uncomfortable, drop it in the comments. Let's talk about it. Put the number in, own it. That's gonna be your step number one. And that's the part nobody is wants to hear. Peace usually comes after movement. Clarity sharpens after movement. Direction gets stronger after movement. Do you understand that you have to get moving in order to see a thing? For it to be a thing. But if you keep waiting to feel fully ready, before you get moving, your vision is going to stay in your head and you're never going to become, it's never going to become the evidence of your life. And that is exhausting because it takes energy to carry a vision and you keep delaying it. It takes energy to keep explaining what you're going to do. It takes energy to keep saying that I'm working on it. And when you know deep down inside that you know that you're really circling it, you're not really ready for it. It takes energy for you to keep preparing for life, you are not actively building. And if I'm honest, it takes energy for me to sit and listen to a person that constantly keeps talking about what they want to do and not making no moves, doing it. And at some point, vision starts to feel heavy when it has nowhere to go. And it's not because your vision is wrong, it's because you've been sitting on it too long without execution. There's a time in my life where I remember I invested over $10,000 into a business program. And when I joined, I was excited. I knew that this was going to work. I just knew it. I believed in the vision. I had the whole plan set up for my business. I believed it was going to grow. I believed that all I had to do was get moving. I believed that the program was going to help me and get me from where I was to where I could already see myself going. I knew that the vision was clear. And the people who were leading this program, they were knowledgeable. They knew what they were doing. They appeared willing to help. They had structure, they had information, they had assignments, they had steps, and I followed all of them. Every assignment that they gave me, I completed it. Every step that they told me to take, I followed it. Every worksheet, every call, every module, every next move, I kept showing up. And in the beginning, I felt like, wow, this is all I need. In about 30 to 60 days, I should be far long. And that's all. I felt like this is really helping me. That like this was God sent. This was giving me language. This was giving me structure. This was giving me uh organization. But then I started noticing something. Every time that I reached what I thought was the next level, there was another cost, another investment, another level up, another package, another program, another upgrade. There was another something that I needed to get to the next step. And the finish line felt like it kept moving farther and farther away. And you see, when you really want your vision to work, you can convince yourself that the next investment is the missing piece. You can tell yourself, maybe this is what I need. Maybe this is what's going to unlock this thing. Who knows? Maybe a breakthrough is on the other side of this investment. And honestly, that's the dangerous place to be in. Listen to me. I've lived it. Because when you're carrying a vision that matters to you, you're going to spend money trying to protect it. You're going to buy things because you don't want to fail. You're going to overprepare because you don't want to mishandle it. And you're going to keep reaching for outside structure because you don't want to admit that the next step requires your trust and you. You got to trust yourself. And that was the moment that I had to face. And I went through this so you don't have to go through it. So if you're listening to this, I want you to understand you have to trust yourself. And when I finally reached this, the point of understanding this, I started saying, no, I'm not doing this again. And it wasn't because I stopped believing in success or I didn't believe in the coaching or the mentorship. I believe in investing in myself. I believe in learning. I believe in getting help from people who have wisdom, who are in a place where I want to be. But I had to understand that what I realized was that I was spending money chasing preparation instead of testing what I've already learned. And that was hard. And it's hard for me to admit that. Because I did the work. I wasn't being lazy. I wasn't sitting around doing nothing. I completed the assignments. I followed the steps. I listened. I showed up. But I had to ask myself, Juanita, are you building the vision? Or are you buying more preparation because you don't trust yourself to move with the vision? Man. Now that made me feel like I took a load off. So I thank you for listening to that. But that question is going to sober you up real quick. Because the truth was that I didn't need another course or another mentor or another framework. I didn't need another person telling me what I already possessed. You don't even need another person telling you what you already possessed. I have to trust myself enough to execute, to test, to repeat, to improve, to allow reality to become my teacher. Because at some point in real life, you have to come to the classroom. The client has to answer, the offer has to be made. The post has to go up. Your product has to be tested. The call is going to have to happen. The book isn't going to write itself. Your idea is not going to leave your notebook. And that's when vision becomes real. Not when it sounds good, not when it's organized beautifully on your page. Not when the branding is perfect and definitely not when the plan is polished. Your vision becomes real when you put something into motion that you can actually test. So the lesson here is not don't invest in yourself. That's too shallow to even say. The lesson is that you gotta stop paying people to tell you what you refuse to activate. I'm gonna say that one more time because many people need to hear this again. Stop paying people for them to tell you what you refuse to activate. I'm gonna say that in a different way. Stop paying people to tell you to get started. Because sometimes the issue is not access, it's not who you know, it's activation. Sometimes that issue is not that you need more wisdom, it's that you haven't moved with the wisdom that you already received. And at some point, you have to stop protecting the vision through preparation. And you have to start moving and proving the vision through execution. Hey, real quick, before we go deeper, if this episode is stepping on your toes in the best way, and I mean the best way, do three things for me right now. Hit that like button, subscribe, or follow the show so that you never miss an episode. And share this with one person who keeps saying that I'm almost ready. Because they don't need more motivation, they need to see themselves in the mirror. And it takes you 10 seconds, and it helps us make our chat reach the next visionary who's been circling their dream instead of building it. All right, let's get back to it because the next part is where we start shifting everything. All right, so let's shift how we are looking at this, okay? A lot of people they think that vision is the ability to see far, but vision is also the ability to move when you cannot prove the whole thing yet. That's the part people skip. Vision is not just imagination, it's a decision-making discipline, a follow-through. It's attesting what you see in private against what actually works in public. Because if your vision only lives in your head, it can't, it can stay perfect forever. Because it's just in your head. Nobody can reject it, nobody can question it, nobody can ignore it, they can't tell you the price is wrong or if the offer's unclear. They can say that they don't understand what you got going on, but nobody can really say no because you haven't put it out there. And that's why people keep the visions in their head, not because they don't love it, it's because once the vision leaves your head, it has to face reality. And reality is gonna give you feedback. In reality, it might show you that the offer needs work. It might even show you that the audience is confused and they're like, uh-uh, this is not gonna work. It might show you that the pricing needs adjusting. It might even show you that the way that you're marketing and communicating this product or service may need to change. But reality is going to show you that your first version is not the final version. You're gonna always add to or subtract as you go. But the point is you have to get started in order to do that. And I believe that is what scares people, not because they are too lazy to get started, but because they don't want the real world to touch the vision that they have. I feel like they want to keep it safe. They want to keep it beautiful, they want to keep it untouched, they want to keep it as something that could be great. They want to keep it as a conversation that they keep having. Oh, I'm doing this for these women or these men or these children. And it's like you're not doing anything. You're just talking about it. And when you talk about it, it sounds good. A vision that cannot survive testing, it can't be a business. A vision that cannot survive any type of feedback, it cannot give impact. And if you think about it, any type of vision that cannot survive adjustment, it can't give you results. And this is what I teach to my clients. I talk about the gap effect. And the gap is not just between knowing and doing, it is the space between what you can see and what you're willing to build. The gap is going to expose everything, it's gonna expose where you keep waiting, where you keep researching, where you keep adding new things, and where you keep delaying stuff. And I know we don't like calling it fear, but it's gonna show you the fear that you keep dressing up and calling it strategy. And don't get me wrong, because sometimes it's not fear of failure. Sometimes it's fear of finding out that your vision needs work. Fear of finding out that the first version is not good enough and that you have to pivot. Preparation, it lets you feel close to the vision without risking the vision. You can watch another training and feel like you're moving. You can buy another template and feel like you're building. You can open a document and feel like you're actually working. Information is powerful when it produces movement. But when it becomes dangerous, is when it becomes a hiding place, when learning becomes the substitute for launching, when studying becomes the substitute for selling. Because now you have way too many voices, too many methods, too many steps, and too many opinions. And then your vision is going to start to get blurry because you keep letting too much outside noise edit what you already saw. And that's why some of you are tired. You're not tired because you don't see the vision or you don't have the vision. You're tired because your vision has been overfed. It's been overfed with information and undernourished with execution. Overfed with information, undernourished with execution. And when that happens, you start doing strange things. I call them strange things because they are. You create five offers before you test one. You add services before you even validate that they have that there's a demand for your services. You come up with problems that you want to solve that never ever, nobody ever said that they had a problem with. You build software or logos or something just to change it in a week or a month or a year from now. You design funnels before you even have a conversation with your target audience. And what you're doing is making the vision heavier before it even has legs. And then you wonder why you feel overwhelmed because you keep adding weight to something that you have not trained yourself to carry. Stop adding, start testing. I'm going to tell you one more time. Stop adding, start testing. Presentation matters, preparation matters, planning matters. Yes, they all matter, but I believe in excellence. I believe in thinking things through. I believe in strategy and strong communication. I believe leaders should make wise decisions. But none of that is going to matter more than execution because a beautiful plan with no movement is still nothing. A polished offer with no buyers is still nothing. A perfect logo with no sales is still nothing. A notebook full of ideas and no action is still nothing. And I know that there is no shortage of ideas, but there is a huge difference, a huge shortage of execution. And execution is what gives vision a body. That is what is going to make it real. It's not going to be your dream or your notes. It's not going to be how well you can explain your thoughts. It's going to be your movement because your vision is only going to move as far as you trust yourself to execute. So if you keep breaking promises to yourself, your vision starts losing credibility. And then you are doing the notorious thing, saying, I will start Monday. Then Monday comes and goes, and you're like, I'm going to launch this thing next month. And then the next thing you're saying is, oh, I'm going to make the call. I'm going to talk to one person. And then that call is never made. And then after a while, you see everybody moving, and then you're like, oh, okay, this time I'm serious. I'm really serious about this now. I'm going to get started. But we'll see. We will see. So tell me something. When was the last time you kept a deadline that you set for yourself? Not the one that somebody else set for you, but the one that you set for yourself. I want you to think about that. Because your answer is going to tell everything about why vision is still sitting where it's sitting. Because your trust is predictive. We trust what repeats. You trust the chair because every time you sit, it holds you. You trust the light switch because when you flip it, the light comes on. You trust what has proven itself consistent. So if you keep proving to yourself that your own deadlines are optional, your own words start losing weight. That is why self-trust matters. Because if you don't trust yourself to follow through, you will keep looking for someone else to carry the certainty for you. You're going to keep looking for another mentor, another coach, another expert, another program, another influencer, another AI prompt. And at some point, you're gonna have to stop asking everybody else to give you authority to a vision that was placed in your hands. That does not mean stop learning. And what I'm telling you, it does not mean that you have to stop seeking mentors and coaches and stop investing. But what you have to understand is that nobody can execute for you. No course is going to build trust in you for you. No coach is going to make your word credible. All of this is going to happen through action. And all it takes is small action, repeated action, honest action with yourself. You have to do a thing scared sometimes. You have to do a thing not having the whole picture. And understand that you're going to take action no matter what. You're going to keep moving with the pieces that you do have. That is how vision grows. You have to practice it, you have to test it, you have to adjust it. That is how to build. And this is exactly why I built the reset assessment. Because here's what I know about you by now. You don't need another motivational high that wears off by tomorrow morning. You don't need another course collecting dust in your downloads folder, and you definitely don't need more information. We just established that you are already overfed with information. What you need is to know exactly where the breakdown is because it's somewhere. It's in your identity, your vision, your mindset, your money, or your communication. One of those five is where you keep hiding. One of those five is where the gap lives. The reset assessment finds it in seven minutes. Seven minutes. Not another course or another program, not even another investment that you have to talk yourself into. You answer honestly, and it shows you where the gap is between what you can see and what you're actually building. And once you know where the breakdown is, you stop guessing. You stop buying preparation for a product that you haven't even located. You start moving with precision instead of motion. It is free. I said it's free. I said it's free. Where's the breakdown? Find it in seven minutes. And listen, if your first thought was I'll do it later, baby, that might be the exact pattern we just spent this whole episode talking about. Seven minutes, go find it. The link is in the description. Number one, vision needs testing, not just protection. And that is so true because a lot of people protect the vision so much that they never ever let it breathe. They keep it in their notebook, they keep it in their drafts, they keep it in every conversation, they keep it in prayer, but the vision never gets tested and it never grows. So what does that look like? You can spend weeks perfecting an offer in private. But until you actually put it in front of somebody who can say yes or no, you don't even know if the offer is clear. You don't even know if the person needs the thing. You only know that it makes sense to you. And that's not enough because it's not about you. But what you have to do is take one part of your vision today and test it with a real person, a real person, not chat GPT, a real person. Send the message, ask them the questions, make the offer, and post the thought. Share the idea. And do not ask yourself, is it perfect enough? You want to ask yourself, can this give me the feedback that I need? Number two, learning is supposed to sharpen vision, not replace your movements. Learning is supposed to help you move better, not help you avoid moving. If every course and every book or video or conversation that you have gives you more ideas, but no action, you are not growing, you are collecting. You are a hoarder of information. And collecting might make you feel productive in the moment while your vision is starving. So this looks like you listening to three to five business podcasts this week, but you still do not make the call. You don't send the invoice, you don't write the page, you don't post the offer, and you don't follow up with the lead who's been chasing you down. That's not growth. That's entertainment with a highlighter. And if this is you, the best thing that I would suggest for you to do after every piece of learning, write down one action that you can take within 24 hours. And if you can't name an action, stop consuming and go execute on something that you already know. Number three, your vision is not gonna become real if you keep needing certainty first. Certainty is not the starting point. Certainty is built through evidence, and evidence only comes after what? After you get moving. So if this is you, you may not know if people are gonna really buy your program. But you know what you can do? You can ask five people if they're if the problem that you're trying to solve is real. You might not know if the book that you wrote is gonna change people's lives, but you can finish one chapter and share a portion of it. And if you are a service, you give services, you might not know if your services is gonna sell, but what you can do is make one direct offer and see what happens. And lastly, some of your preparation is fear, and it's pretending to be wisdom. And this thing is probably gonna challenge you more than the other three because you know what to do. You just don't like the emotional cost of doing it. You keep saying that you're gonna prepare and that you're gonna reach out, and you have this group of people, but really you're just delaying the moment where the vision has to face reality. You don't need the perfect website to ask for the sale. And a lot of times people would come to me like, I want to build a website and this and that. And I'm like, you don't even have clients or customers. You don't need a website right now. You don't need the perfect CRM to follow up. You just need to be able to send an email. You don't need the perfect plan and the perfect brand just to shoot the idea to somebody. You just need to talk to somebody, talk to a client. Sometimes the next step is not deep, it's simple. But what it is is uncomfortable. So what's yours? What's the uncomfortable scene that you've been dressing up? Because I will do this later. Put it in the comments and let's talk about it. Name the thing that you have been overcomplicating. Now, let's make this real because I don't want you inspired and still stuck. That's why I created this podcast to give you actionable steps to let you know that the surface level stuff that you are dealing with, it is a rooted issue. And that's what we're here to do is to solve those problems. I don't want you nodding your head and agreeing with everything that I say. I don't want you saying that was a good episode and then doing absolutely nothing about it. So pick three things from what I said out of the four to do today. Choose one piece of your vision, whether it's an offer, chapter, a conversation, a problem that you can solve. And don't worry about carrying the whole vision or having everything answered. Don't try to build the whole future in your head instead of building the one piece that you have in your hand. And when you get that one piece, break it down to the simplest form. Make the piece smaller, make it testable, and put it in front of reality. And that means put it in front of a person, a client, customer, somebody that's a great listener, not no haters now. Somebody who can say yes or no, maybe not clear, too expensive, somebody that can give you feedback. And don't look at it as rejection. Don't even try to sell them nothing first. You need to just collect the data to understand if this is going to work. And when you get the feedback, do not make it traumatic. Don't turn one no into a funeral. Do not turn silence into a sentence over your future. You're gonna run into people who are not gonna be interested, but you got to keep going. You're gonna run into friends and family who will think you're crazy for the idea, but there's so many other people out there who will listen, who will help, who will give you feedback. Don't just stop there and make sure that you are recording the results. Don't try to rebuild or recorrect or add or subtract anything, just record the results. What happened, what worked, what didn't work, what needs to be clear. That's how your vision becomes strategy, and that's how your strategy becomes execution. And that is how execution becomes results. So don't add weight to a vision that you haven't tested. Stop creating offers before you test one. So here's what I want you to do before you move on to the next thing, before you open another tab or watch another video or listen to another podcast, before you tell yourself that you need to think about it, comment below and tell me what did you actually build today? And if the answer is nothing yet, don't dress it up. Leave it at that. Just say it. Then go build something. Save this episode for the next time that you catch yourself protecting the vision instead of building it. Share it with somebody who keeps saying that they're almost ready because the goal is not to sound inspired. The goal is to become trustworthy with the vision that you already have. And you're not as far away as you think, but you are going to have to stop waiting, you're going to have to stop collecting, and you're going to have to stop calling delay wisdom. You're going to have to trust yourself. Trust yourself enough to execute. It can be messy, small, imperfect, but it's real. Just trust yourself because vision does not become reality because you saw it. Remember, vision becomes reality because you built it. So I'll ask you one more time what did you actually build today?
